Dougies Diary - The Coup of 2009!

My name is Nicola, and I’m one of the new reps over here at Pearly Grey! I’ve taken over Dougie’s Diary as he has the hump that no one makes any comments on his blogs! Plus he is extremely busy at the moment, taking care of his heavily pregnant wife!!
We had a fantastic night on Saturday, Laszlo´s final BBQ! All the guys were there and we sent him off in real style, with plenty of singing, from Laz himself, and the newest act here at Pearly Grey, The Diva’s, better known as Clare and Linda! And plenty of dancing to the funky tunes from Jazzy Jeff!!! Sadly, Heather has parted ways with us, but our resident compere Jazzy Jeff is doing a grand job and is a huge success with all the owners and guests!
Following Saturday’s antics, myself, Paul and Karin went off on Sandy’s cultural trip with some of the guests. We left the resort at about 10am and headed straight up into the mountains. Sandy’s knowledge about Tenerife and the culture here was truly amazing, as I’ve been holidaying here for over 10 years and lived here for 8 months it was great to learn all about the real Tenerife! We visited Vilaflor, the highest village in Spanish territory, where we got chance to wander around the lovely churches and sample some of the local delicacies! We took particular delight to some homemade honey and almond cake, mmmmm!!
Following this we then went to visit a Bodega, or a winery. It was truly fascinating learning all about how wine goes from grape to a bottle, and being talked through all the stages. We were then given a lesson in wine tasting and chance to sample some of their gorgeous wines!!
Finally we headed down to the most beautiful restaurant, situated just above Valle San Lorenzo with the most spectacular views of the south of Tenerife. A fine lunch and yet more wine was a great finish to a fantastic day!! The reps and the guests truly enjoyed the day and would 100% recommend it to everyone who is visiting Pearly Grey.

Thanks, Nicola for bringing us up to date with news of PG. We wondered when Lazlo was leaqving as we knew it was imminent but not sure on the date. It’s probably too late now to wish him Bon Voyage en route to Canada unless he keeps following the PG website. If so - Good luck Lazlo, hope all goes well in your new occupation on the farm with your Dad.
Sounds like you all had a good day out. We’ll have another go at booking when we come out again next year. we did try this year but it was cancelled thru’ lack of interest!
Also, good luck to jeff taking over the compere’s jub. Hope he’s enjoying it.
Look forward to more news & gossip of PG & pictures of the refurb as it happens. Looks great.

Well done Nic, you’ve set the standard now so next months Diary will have to be just as good.
As for Dougie, don’t retire from writing just yet mate, your journalistic endeavours are still of interest to the PG global community.

At Last,we have have a diary that is upto date(only jokeing Duggie),good to see whats going on ,is JAZZY JEFF doing the entertaining in the daytime as well,you do right Duggie and look after your lass,hope to be back for at least a week soon but if not see you all in August,best regards Mick Bell

hi michelle + kev here back in miserable England, we just want to say we had a great time last week at pearly grey.
We also went on the wine tsating trip and it was very good.
Jeff was very funny doing the entertainment and we laughed all week. He is great!
Dont forget to tell your friend mark we know him, from the leisure center xx

Good to see Kath on the Saturday n ight was in good form she had a bad head Sunday.

Hi Nicola, Great Diary, I logged on to respond to Dougies but disappointed not to find it. Please tell Dougie that I DID log on to reply. Anyway you are much more attractive than Dougie so keep up the diary and we will definitely log on and read and respond now you are doing it!
We agree the Sunday Trip is very good and can recommend it to the other guests, especially the bodega,and Vilaflor, and the Restaurant.Please can you send me your email address again I have lost it, (what a clot!), and can’t send you any emails.
