Hi folks! I have just finished my “Swim the Amazon River backwards in a Mr. Blobby outfit†challenge, if you were wondering why it’s taken so long to update Dougie´s Diary!! (Those damn piranhas! won’t be able to sit down for weeks!!)
Anyway, what’s been happening down here at good ole Pearly Grey-the home of the great and the good? Well firstly our very own action man, Lazlo Sarkozy has gone off on a six month holiday back to his native BC! Yes that’s correct, Brixton Common!! Just kidding of course! He has jetted off to Vancouver Island, BC Canada. So what else could we do apart from go out and have a big bash! We have been waiting for such an occasion to arise so we could also celebrate Jeff being voted rep of the year.
So off we trundled down to the world famous Playa Del Duque beach for cocktails at sunset in the beautiful Acanto Bar. Of course I fainted at the bar when I received the bill for the first round!! “HOW MUCH??†“I COULD BUY A SMALL ISLAND FOR THAT†etc, but what a fantastic Moroccan-themed bar with incredible views of the beach. Joking apart, it is not that expensive!
So as the hunger pangs had now set in, we headed off to the Teppanyaki restaurant near by. Teppanyaki is a Japanese concept, where they cook the food in front of you on a huge hot-plate!
The chef “Dave†was mesmerizing with all his magical chopping, flipping, peeling and cooking skills all done in a blink of an eye. We were amazed he still had all his fingers and thumbs intact. So with all this top Japanese-style food being prepared for us, trust Kev, the new rep, to order in his words “Mate, mate could I get some chips and a bowl of curry sauce please, oh yeah and whilst you’re up, a few more Jägermeistersâ€. We laughed so much as the waiter walked off wondering if he was joking or not! Which of course Kev was not!! The laughter continued when it was decided by the male sector of the team to mount the motorized arcade Donkey to see if it would work with us all on. So we put the two euro coin in and to our amazement it actually worked!! Jeff even went back afterwards to have another go! We just could not stop laughing…
With all this merriment going on, we decided to head off to an Irish bar in San Eugeino for some live rock music. We quickly ushered on stage our very own Jon Bon Jovi aka Lazlo! He brought the house down with “Living on a Prayerâ€. What a great night was had by all!
So, back to what’s been going on at PG. Well firstly, the guys have decided that the Saturday night BBQ has been declared a “Pink Shirt Night†for the men! So get down to your local Matalan store and purchase your loud and proud pink shirt! The BBQ is awesome at this time of year, the sunsets are absolutely stunning! Also we have introduced a Canarian/Spanish evening around the swimming pool on a Monday. Again the chaps have decided this is going to be a “LOUDEST SHIRT POSSIBLE†evening. The local shops are doing a roaring trade in Hawaiian shirts! The food and setting is absolutely incredible and the tropical punch that accompanies the meal is more like a tropical storm than a punch! The weather this winter has been the best in recorded history. So do not delay, get down to work and demand another week off and come and sample some of our fantastic atmosphere for yourselves. We are extending our “Friends and Family†weeks for weeks in May and June (check out Owners Information Section ). Also we are setting up lots of On-Site incentives for Owners who travel with guests. So scour around all your friends and family, next door neighbours, Jimmy Saville, work colleagues, anyone who would love a week in the sun at without doubt the best resort on the planet and lets book you all in! And still receive your referral fee!
So my friends, my next challenge of “Roller Skating around Outer Mongolia in a Dusty Bin (of 3-2-1 fame) outfit†awaits, so take good care of yourselves and we will see you all soon.
