The Pearly Grey management team held their regular meeting in our very own Razzmatazz restaurant yesterday afternoon.

Well you were warned, Friday 20th November 2009 saw the Pearly Grey reception team dressed in pirate costumes in aid of the Ingane Yami Children’s Village charity.
This was the pledge of Captain Gemma & her band of cut throats who raised a magnificent €425.00.
We’re not sure how much rum was consumed during the day but the parrott perched on Helyette’s and Carine’s shoulder was looking a little bleary eyed late in the afternoon..!!!
It was a great day for all the owners and guests who were either checking in or checking out, thanks for showing your support and joining in with the fun theme created by our world class reception team, you are the best!!

This Friday’s check in/checkout at Pearly Grey promises to be a little different, Gemma & her reception team pledged to dress up in pirate costumes if we managed to raise €300 from the reception raffle, well we actually collected €425 which is a great achievement.
The raffle prizes were handed out yesterday afternoon with the draw taking place at the Pearly Grey pool.

We would like to thank all those who kindly bought raffle tickets, all the money collected will be going to the Ingane Yami Children’s Village charity.

For all our owners & guests who will be here on Friday, we hope you enjoy the day and we appreciate the support you give us.
Yesterday evening all the Pearly Grey staff attended our annual Christmas party.
This year was slightly different though, instead of going to a restaurant we decided to have the party in our own recently refurbished Razzmatazz bar & restaurant.
This in itself was a change from the usual procedure, but to make it even more memorable all the PG management worked the whole evening, from cooking, cleaning, serving & waiting on tables.
Our staff for the evening were;
James, Ryszard & Serge – Kitchen assistants & waiters
Dougie – Barman
Andres – Barman & waiter
Justine – Hostess & waitress
Darryl – Chef
Adrian, Jayne, Mariana, Gemma, Lily & Nati – Waiter/Waitress
The evening started at 7pm with welcome drinks and at around 7.45pm we sat down to eat, the food was excellent, with a choice of salads, fish & meat, all washed down with some beautiful Australian wines.
After the meal we had departmental awards & gave recognition to all the staff who have worked so hard throughout the year, with special thanks going to Darryl & the managers who had volunteered to work the whole evening and made our night so enjoyable.
Later on we had music & dancing with David performing the DJ duties, thanks David you did a great job!!
There were a few tired souls at Pearly Grey this morning, but we all turned up present & correct.
As you may remember, Gemma & her reception team pledged to do this Friday’s (20th November) check in/checkout in fancy dress if we managed to reach a target of €300 raffle tickets sold for the Ingane Yami Children’s Village charity. Well on Saturday 14th November we passed the €300 target thanks to the generosity of our owners and staff, the money is still coming in so we don’t yet have a final figure.

This Friday promises to be a fun event and we are sure that all those owners & guests who are either checking in or checking out will certainly remember the day.
Well done to Gemma & our reception team for reaching the target so quickly, and thanks to everyone who donated.
Watch this space for photos of this Friday’s special event.
Pearly Grey was once again the location for the second epic ‘Eatathon’ in aid of the Ingane Yami Children’s Village charity.
On the menu today was Spaghetti Bolognese, a very popular dish originating from Italy, a country renowned for its great cuisine (and fine wines).
The challenge for today’s contestants was to eat a plate full of spaghetti hands free, yes this was going to be messy!!
Each entrant had to either place their hands behind their backs or under the table, and there were plenty of observers to make sure the rules were obeyed.

At the table today were;
Tracey Cutting – representing Pearly Grey
Sarah & Steve Wilson – Pearly Grey guests
David Alvarez Casanova – representing Pearly Grey & a late substitute for our General Manager Ryszard who was AWOL!
Andrew Jenkins – Pearly Grey guest
Neil Horner – Pearly Grey guest
Barry & Carl Jackson – Pearly Grey guests
Ken Smith – Pearly Grey guest
As the dinner bell chimed 9 faces dived headfirst into their lunch, only coming up to take a gulp of air, and amazingly within 47 seconds we had a winner, Andrew Jenkins from Truro in England had licked his plate clean and was patiently waiting for dessert.
Andrew even managed to emerge with the cleanest face, how he managed that we don’t know, although when you look at Tracey you may think she had Andrew’s share too!!

Thanks to all those who took part, and a special thanks to Tracey for organising the event.
We managed to raise €79.95

See video footage below.
On Friday 20th November the reception team are willing to be publicly humiliated during your check in/out during your stay!!!!
All we ask from you is to purchase a raffle ticket (or two) to contribute to this good cause. I am sure you will all be aware of our charity “Ingane Yami”…… if not log onto the website www.inganeyami.com or www.pearlygrey.com to find out more!
