On the 13th September 2008 between the hours of 7am-5pm, Offley Angling Club will be holding a charity fishing match in the aid of Sue Ryder Care/St. John´s Hospice and the Primrose Unit at Bedford Hospital. Please come and support them on Saturday during the day at the ponds and in the evening at Offley Recreation Club where there will be a disco, auction and raffle. All are welcome. David Alvarez Casanova - Housekeeping

David is one of the hardest working veterans here at Pearly Grey - you may have seen him cheerfully pushing a laundry cart through our hallways or carrying tall piles of towels to the gym. He is known for being a caring, responsible worker who organizes his time well.

All guests coming to stay at Pearly Grey during the month of September will have the opportunity to use the Body Zone Health & Fitness Club at some great discounted prices.

A One-Day Pass to the club which entitles you to unlimited use of the gym & spa area during the whole day, has been reduced from 9€ to 7€. Or for the very keen there is the Weekly Pass, normally 25€ but for this month reduced to 20€!

Heather “McNaughty but Nice,” our dazzling and delightful compere, has a new email account, heather@pearlygrey.com, which at the moment is depressingly empty. Something must be done!

It has been proposed that any and all of our guests with photos of their most recent stay send their best photos to heather@pearlygrey.com, and Heather will pick some to put on this very blog. Make sure you give her your complete name and the date of your photos so you may be credited.

For any of you who haven´t had the pleasure of seeing Heather in action yet, here is a brief bio:

Heather has been in the entertainment business for the past 15 years. Starting off as children´s entertainer for Haven Holidays, she worked her way up to family host and compere. She then worked as entertainment manager for a large resort, where she coordinated two bands and nine staff. Heather, wanting to further her career, ventured abroad 9 years ago and worked as an entertainment manager for 5 years in a hotel here in Tenerife . She has also worked the circuit as compere for many bars and venues on the island, until an opportunity came in October to join the Pearly Grey team. She is popular with guests of all ages.

Heather has also appeared on TV in a six-week documentary on Channel 4 Series and has also had a go at radio presenting.

Wendy Roberts, in our referrals department, is back working after having breast cancer surgery. For the time being, she is working from home, and stops into the office to check her emails every other day. Mariana, who was also our February Employee of the Month, now has the new title of Office Coordinator. We are glad to have her as our new leader, as she is hard-working, kind-hearted, and fun. We know that she has lots of great ideas up her sleeve to unite and strengthen the team, and hopefully some of them will involve funny hats and bouncy castles!

Liliana Espinosa - Administration

As a guest here at Pearly Grey, chances are you haven´t been lucky enough to meet Liliana. However, she is one of those behind-the-scenes people that have a great effect on your stay. She works alongside our resort manager, Ana, to make sure that everything is working as it should, and puts in long hours.

But there is something even more important about Liliana. She is one of the most caring, sweetest, and most thoughtful people you would ever meet. She is always willing to help other staff members, and takes her own personal time to do so. And she is always smiling.
