Once again it is Halloween at Pearly Grey Ocean Club, and as usual we celebrated with a Halloween party. All the owners & staff dressed up and had a fantastic evening of fun & laughter.

This years event was hosted by our resident compere, Frightening Jazzy The Death Jeff, who, with the help of Martin Sawyer (Denise’s husband) had spent the whole day decorating the stage & bar areas with all sorts of haunting artwork.

Razzmatazz restaurant re-opened on Sunday, 5th July, after nearly two months of refurbishment. The place is gorgeous, bright, and spacious, with modern decor and a new menu. The reception area has also had its new furniture put in, as the refurbishment finished a few weeks ago. The new salon is still in the works, but should be open very soon. There is an internet café adjacent to the salon, which is now open, and WIFI is available in reception and the restaurant areas!

The admin team drove up to the great wilderness of Chío for a picnic lunch and team building games on the most beautiful day of the year. Everyone brought a typical dish from her home country to share, and Mariana made little flags to mark them with. We had egg salad sandwiches, sausage rolls, quiche, potato salad, cole slaw, and desserts from England, tuna salad and tuna croquetas from Spain, Ham bread from Venezuela, Empanadas from Argentina, pizza from Italy, authentic quiche and crepes from France, spicy chicken wings from South Africa, and Reese´s Peanut Butter Cups from the good old U.S. of A. Of course there was every kind of potato chip, cracker, and soda imaginable, as well, but Mariana had a go at bringing us healthy fruit as well.

Tea and coffee were also present, but for most it was best to stay away from too many liquids, as the bathrooms were locked and the trees were being used for more than just scenery and shade.

Mariana planned two games for us: charades and “I never.” We all got to know each other better, had lots of good laughs, and left feeling like a real team.

Dougie and Ana brought Rafael in for his first visit to Pearly Grey. He was just 6 days old, so he slept through the whole visit.

The management of PG with its developer, James Beckley, just returned from a fantastic teambuilding weekend in the north of the island near Garachico. We all had such a tremendous time at a rural hotel in a banana plantation. It is amazing how you get to know your fellow colleagues out of the work environment, for example:

···Ricardo (General Manager) loves sleepwalking,
···Gemma (head receptionist) is such a genuine open-minded person and ···Ana (Resort manager) loves to sleep so much
