Adriana Corujo Silva - Restaurant
(Pictured with our General Manager Ryszard Majewski)
Adriana works in our restaurant and is the second staff member from the restaurant to receive the award in as many months!!
Congratulations & well done from everyone at Pearly Grey.
1- We have just installed a decalcifying machine which was long needed. This will have a vast impact on our water cycling system. It prevents lime deposits caused by hard water from harming your appliances. The advantages it will offer you are to remove calcifications from washing machines, dishwashers, coffeemakers, and pots. Very effective for removing persistent calcium deposits on toilets, boilers, wash basins, etc. This will also benefit the water consumption in the pool and give a healthier look to our gardens. You will note more transparent ice blocks in your drinks and clearer tap water.
2- As from this Friday, 1st June, we will extend our lunch time meals from 15h00-17h00 with a limited menu for all you hungry travellers.
3- We have put an anti slip surface at the entrance to the kids swimming pool.
4- Katie, our friendly Polish receptionist will leave us this month. She will be greatly missed by many guests and staff members.
5- Employee of the month for May was Adriana from the restaurant.
6- We are proud to announce the PG Owner Loyalty card system: On your next visit to PG your rep will give you (and if not, request it please) a card, resembling a credit card, that enables you to take advantage of all our facilities (restaurant, gym, beauty salon and rent a car) at a discounted rate. There will be Platinum, Gold and Silver cards with discounts applied accordingly.
Pearly Grey is pleased and proud to announce that our very own Dominic James was voted the winner of the Compere category at the Tenerife Entertainment Awards 2007, held at Exit Palace, Arona, yesterday May 27th!
Congratulations to Dom, and a big thank you to everyone who voted for him!!
10.15 on Monday morning, the sky was a little overcast but the PG Admin team were undeterred. Rucksacks at the ready, they met up at the Otelo Restaurant in Adeje (Better known locally as the Chicken Shack!!) on their latest adventure, to walk the Barranco Del Infierno! (literally “Hell’s Gorge”.)
The walk covers some 6.5 kilometres of rough mountain track, some of it requiring walkers to clamber over rocks and streams, much of it steep and stony, and culminating in the arrival at a waterfall and a small pool.
Loitering at the waterfall is not encouraged however, due to the danger of falling rocks, so after a few minutes to rest, it was about-turn and time to retrace our steps back to the starting point.
The slightly overcast weather was a definite bonus, a blazing hot day would no doubt have slowed our progress a little and we had taken plenty of water with us, but the view of the Otelo restaurant as we came around the last bend was still a very welcome sight!
We recuperated over lunch, a simple yet delicious meal of garlic chicken, salad and Canarian potatoes with mojo sauce, relaxing and feeling very virtuous as we did so…although there were a few stiff muscles and aching legs for the next few days!
The barranco and the surrounding areas have been designated as being of outstanding natural beauty and the walk itself is now protected to preserve it for future generations, so the numbers of walkers are limited each day and a small fee is payable. It is more than worth the effort however, so next time you are in Resort why not spend a few hours out and about in the Canarian countryside? Just remember to wear suitable footwear and to bring water…and a camera!!
